Boston Rugby Football Club Summer U19 and College/Men’s 7s

The Boston Rugby Football Club will field two 7s sides and a U19 7s/15s side this summer. The college and men’s 7s season kicks off on June 5, 2012 and runs through August 4, 2012. Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm at Moakley Park from June 5 to June 21. U19 begins training on June 26. Starting on that date, the 7s and U19 teams will practice side by side on state-of-the-art turf at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville. There is no experience necessary – all players are welcome!

BRFC 7s has qualified for the national championship tournament four years running. Multiple BRFC players have been invited to USA Eagles 7s tryouts, with one player representing the Eagles on the international 7s circuit. The Boston 7s program offers a great chance for men’s and college players to challenge themselves and learn from some of the best players in the country.

The BRFC U19 team enters its third year of competition, coached by current USA Rugby Super League player Tyler Williams and former player Joe Dolan, who has coached high school rugby for over 20 years at Brookline and Milton High Schools. Past U19 players have already graduated to BRFC’s Super League and Division 1 teams and gone on to start for their college teams. The program focuses on building individual skills and putting players in game-like situations. Players must be 19 years old or younger for all of 2012 and no younger than 15 years old to participate. Beginners are encouraged!
